To ensure proper cable lengths for Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) deployments in MDU architectures, extensive engineering is often required. However, the 4.5” (114.30 mm) FieldShield FLEXdrop Deploy Reel significantly reduces the need for pre-engineering, as FLEXdrop can be directly pulled from the reel to the access point. The pushable connector is completed with supplied connector housings and mated to the adapter once it reaches its destination. The remaining slack on the reel is pre-stored, eliminating the need for further slack management. The terminated end of the reel is pre-tested, cleaned, and mated in a Clearfield factory environment, leaving the technician to mate the patch cord to the adapter on the reel. The small form factor of the cable assembly and Deploy Reel allows the FLEXdrop to be pulled and slack stored from the customer demarcation point, making it an ideal ISP cable for MDU and riser deployments.
